AHMA Annual Hair Grand Event – 2025 Greater Bay Area Cup (Hong Kong) Digital Hair & Image Design Competition Successfully Held!

The 2025 Greater Bay Area Cup (Hong Kong) Digital Hair & Image Design Competition was successfully held on November 12th! Initiated by Ms. Yip Wai Man, Honorary Fellow of VTC and Founder of AHMA, this event aims to promote the development of the hairdressing industry with the original aspiration of "Passing the Torch, Nurturing Talents and Fostering Industry", and to carry forward the spirit of innovation and inheritance.

Organized by AHMA HAIR COUNCIL and guided by the Hairdressing Education Professional Committee of China Hairdressing and Beauty Association (CHBA), this competition has received joint support from the Hong Kong Design Institute, Youth College, Guangdong Lingnan Modern Technician College, and the Greater Bay Area Beauty Industry Cultural Exchange Association, as well as strong assistance from numerous renowned institutions.

A total of 101 contestants competed side by side at the Hong Kong Design Institute in this competition. Such a scale is rarely seen in the history of hairdressing competitions in Hong Kong, fully demonstrating the vitality and creativity of the new generation in the hairdressing industry.

The judging criteria for this year’s competition cover color application, hair cutting, and overall styling, with the innovative integration of AI digital elements that distinguish it from traditional hairdressing competitions. Finalists are required to deliver a speech on the inspiration behind their creations within a limited time, combined with the AI inspiration cards submitted prior to the event. This not only tests the contestants’ technical proficiency but also challenges their professional competence. The judging panel, consisting of top beauty industry professionals from the China Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and London, will evaluate entries based on work completion and contestants’ on-site presentation skills, ensuring the fairness and authority of the selection process.
